~ Speed finally comes to UHD 4K with a classy steelbook version ~

SPEED, the action thriller from 1994 starring Keanu Reeves and relative new comer Sandra Bullock, makes its UHD 4K debut. The movie looks fantastic now and the sound is good, but, they did not upgrade the sound to 7.1 Atmos or equivalent. They kept it at DTS 5.1. I would have thought if you are going to upgrade to the higher resolution UHD format, you may want to upgrade the sound as well. Most movies do when being put on this format. Well, still sounds decent, but I would have liked an improvement on that. The Blu-ray version has the DTS 5.1 audio. You get to choose audio commentary as an option on the 4K disc also, but special features are mainly concentrated on the additional blu-ray in this package. Many of them are brought over from the previous releases, but there are some vintage interview snippets of the cast on the 5 Star DVD version by Fox some years ago. They decided not to put those on this new upgraded release. So, if you want to keep those, keep the 2nd DVD of that. The quality of them though is not that great, plus the DVD is slow to respond when playing in the 4K player. Overall, the steelbook is great with the artwork and the actual discs have artwork on them as well. Beautifully done.
