Zavvi - The Home of Pop Culture
THX 1138 is the second release in the Sci-fi Destination SteelBook range. Each release includes a replica A3-sized theatrical poster.
The visionary first film from George Lucas in a director's cut. A chilling exploration of the future is also a compelling examination of the present in George Lucas's THX 1138, starring Robert Duvall as a man whose mind and body are controlled by the government.
THX makes a harrowing attempt to escape from a world where thoughts are controlled, freedom is an impossibility and love is the ultimate crime. "The real excitement of THX 1138 is not really the message but the medium - the use of film not to tell a story so much as to convey an experience. Stunning... dazzling... chilling and terribly powerful" (Charles Champlin, Los Angeles Times).

Love the Sci-Fi Destination Series Steels!!!
First off to answer TBoarder's question, yes this and so far all the other Sci-Fi Destination series steelbooks I have received, which is 1-4, are region free or maybe A/B. They all play on my Xbox One S and my Sony 4K player, I think it's model X700 or something like that. I am in the U.S. so my players only play region A Blu-Rays. Hope that helps you out! On to the steelbook review. I have not seen this movie yet so the review is only for the steelbook. I love the simple designs of these Sci-Fi Destination Series steels. As soon as I first seen them for pre-order I knew I had to have all of them even if the movie itself isn't something I would normally buy or watch. I do love Sci-Fi movies and shows so I may enjoy some of these movies but I mainly bought them for the cool steelbook! And they all come with a little poster replica of the original that would have been in the theater lobby or outside of the theater back when they were first released, so that's a cool little extra! I do have a slight problem with this steelbook, #2 THX 1138, and #1 Forbidden Planet, for some reason these two have a green tint to them. I'm not sure if these two were a mistake but they don't match my other two that's for sure. Maybe the paint had a little too much green in it at first but comparing them to #3 Logan's Run and #4 A.I., they are definitely more green. Numbers 3 and 4 are tan or beige. Seems like they needed to add a bit more yellow to the first two steelbooks to make the paint more tan/beige. Even comparing them to the pictures here on Zavvi they are way more green in person. So #1 and #2 don't match #3 and #4 which isn't a huge problem but it does bug me a little. When you are collecting a set or series you want them to all match up. Anyone else out there order all these and have the same issue with the color on #1 and #2? I had to knock off a star for that but other than the color issue I really do love the Sci-Fi Destination series steelbooks and I hope you keep making them! I got lucky and was able to order or pre-order all of them, including the 4K Blade Runner which sold out pretty quick! Anyone at Zavvi know how many of these there will be? Six seems like a strange number to stop on so I'm guessing there will be more, maybe at least 10? I haven't seen any more up for pre-order so maybe there will only be the 6? Anyways to wrap things up, I love the Sci-Fi series and all Steelbooks and Zavvi is a great place to buy from! I have never had an issue with the condition of any steelbooks I've bought from them as far as dents or scratches. They are always in perfect condition and I'm in the States so they make it to me safe all the way across the pond! That's saying a lot considering the other so called "Best" place I order Steelbooks from is literally only hours away from me and I can't count how many times I've received a dented/bent or scratched up steelbook that I had to return only to find out they're sold out of it! So thank you Zavvi, you have a customer for life!

Not a review, a question, as there seems to be no other place to ask.
Is this disc region free? I would like to purchase this, but if it is region B or C, there is no point to it. Same goes for Forbidden Planet and Logan's Run. Thank you.
