Can’t Stop The Feeling

Released in 2016, DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls is a computer-animated movie that was directed by Mike Mitchell. The concept draws inspiration from Thomas Dam’s famous dolls, the Good Luck Trolls, which were popular during the early ’60s.

At the beginning of the film, audiences meet the titular Trolls, a species of perpetually happy creatures that enjoy singing and dancing. Their existence uncovered by the Bergens, they are caged inside a tree, where they are to be held until the Trollstice. When this special occasion arrives, the Bergens will feast upon their captives, intending to absorb their happiness. Fortunately, King Peppy (Jeffrey Tambor) and his daughter, Princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick), organize an elaborate escape for their people. King Gristle (John Cleese), the leader of the Bergens, is enraged by this discovery and subsequently exiles Chef (Christine Baranski), who was responsible for supervising the ceremony. Feeling betrayed, she makes it her mission to find her lost prisoners, but her true objective is to usurp control of the kingdom.

In 2020, a direct sequel was released: Trolls World Tour. Directed by Walt Dohrn, the movie features the return of Poppy and Branch (Justin Timberlake), who discover other tribes with a passion for music of all genres. Seeking to assert dominance, Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom), the leader of the Rock tribe, sets out to overthrow those with different tastes.
