Leon: Director’s Cut – 25th Anniversary Edition 4K Ultra HD Zavvi UK Exclusive Steelbook (Includes 2D Blu-ray)
$38.99
One of Luc Besson's most incredible movies, Leon, has been restored to stunning 4K and is being released in this 25th anniversary limited edition. Visually stylish and graphically violent, this intensely emotional film contains career defining performances and stands up as one of the top action- thrillers of all time whilst offering great depth and substance to the tragic multi-layered heroes. Mathilda (Natalie Portman) is only 12 years old, but is already familiar with the dark side of life: her abusive father stores drugs for corrupt police officers, and her mother neglects her. Léon (Jean Reno), who lives down the hall, tends to his houseplants and works as a hired hitman for mobster Tony (Danny Aiello). When her family is murdered by crooked DEA agent Stansfield (Gary Oldman), Mathilda joins forces with a reluctant Leon to learn his deadly trade and avenge her family's deaths.

Awesome
I love the steelbook art work. This is also one of my all time favorite movies.

Leon - 4K SB
This StudioCanal 4K Director's Cut (aka extended version - 1hr 33 min) steelbook packaging of "Leon" is region free as is typical with 4K discs and unlike the Sony 4K pressing it is encoded with Dolby Vision which gives it a slightly better picture resolution and colour rendition than the Sony Version. The audio is Dolby Atmos only. Unfortunately the 2K Blu-ray disc included is NOT region free but encoded for Region B (2). Apparently the 2K Blu-ray contains both the theatrical and extended versions of the film with DTS 7.1 audio along with the extras. Note: This product was originally listed as Region Free and has since been amended to reflect Region B. However, as I was purchasing this 25th Anniversary Edition primarily as a steelbook collector and had previously purchased the Sony 4K version, I was only slightly disappointed as the same extras are included on the Sony pressing with both versions of the film in 4K (sans Dolby Vision).
