Let The Concert Begin

A British rock band from London, the Who was founded in the ’60s. Their original line-up comprised Pete Townshend (guitars, vocals, and keyboards), Roger Daltrey (vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica, percussion), John Entwistle (bass guitar, horns, and vocals), and Keith Moon (drums and vocals). However, Moon was later replaced by drummer Kenny Jones, who made his debut in 1978.

Throughout the band’s history, they have released a variety of studio albums: My Generation (1965), A Quick One (1966), The Who Sell Out (1967), Tommy (1969), Who’s Next (1971), Quadrophenia (1973), The Who By Numbers (1975), Who Are You (1978), Face Dances (1981), It’s Hard (1982), Endless Wire (2006), and Who (2019). These albums have featured many of their greatest hits, such as “Baba O’Riley”, “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, “Eminence Front”, “Pinball Wizard”, “Behind Blue Eyes”, “I Can See For Miles”, “My Generation”, “The Real Me”, “I Can’t Explain”, “It’s A Boy”, “Squeeze Box”, “Magic Bus”, and “Boris The Spider” — among others.

In 1975, the album Tommy was adapted to film by director Ken Russell. The plot focuses on its eponymous character, a young boy who suffers from psychological trauma. In addition to Daltry, who takes on the role of lead, there are various recognizable figures: Ann-Margret, Tina Turner, Elton John, Oliver Reed, Eric Clapton, and Jack Nicholson. Following in the footsteps of Tommy, a live-action adaptation of Quadrophenia was released in 1979.
