A Ridley Scott Classic

Blade Runner (1982) is a science-fiction film directed by Ridley Scott. It is loosely based on Philip K. Dick's 1968 novel Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? Centered around a dystopian Los Angeles in the year 2019, the film introduces audiences to a world where synthetic humans (known as replicants) are bio-engineered by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work at space colonies. These robots are aware of their own fabricated nature, but they are quickly evolving to become more like humans.

In this world, there are certain individuals known as Blade Runners. These people are professional bounty hunters tasked with hunting down escaped replicants. Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) is one of these bounty hunters. After a number of advanced replicants escape their colonies, police chief Bryant (M. Emmet Walsh) coerces Deckard into tracking them down.

Set 30 years later, Blade Runner 2049 (2017) picks up after the events of the first film. Directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, the sequel stars Ryan Gosling as K, a Nexus-9 replicant blade runner who uncovers a secret that has been buried for many years. A secret that threatens to alter the course of civilization.

No Replicants Here.
