Enter The Arcade

Released in 2012, Wreck-It Ralph is an animated film that was directed by Rich Moore and produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The story focuses on its eponymous character (voiced by John C. Reilly), the principal villain in the Litwak’s Arcade game Fix-It Felix, Jr.

After many years of watching Felix (Jack McBrayer) being praised as a hero, Ralph decides to abandon his commitments and win a medal, hoping to earn some respect from his peers. To do this, he enters a game known as Hero’s Duty and takes one while the protagonists are preoccupied with their insectoid enemies, the Cy-Bugs. Unfortunately, his attempt to depart is interrupted when he unintentionally lands an escape pod in the candy-themed world of Sugar Rush. Ralph’s game is decommissioned in his absence, forcing Felix to track him down with the help of Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch), who wants to find a stowaway Cy-Bug before it can evolve into a virus.

In 2018, a sequel made its theatrical debut: Ralph Breaks The Internet. Directed by Moore and Phil Johnston, the movie features the return of Ralph and his friend Vanellope (Sarah Silverman), whom he met in Sugar Rush. Venelope has grown tired of the same-old racetracks, so Ralph offers to install a hidden path. However, when the eager racer tries to test the new route, she damages the arcade machine’s steering wheel. The price of a replacement being too high, the owner (Ed O'Neill) unplugs the game, stranding its residents. This leaves Ralph and Venellope with no choice but to enter the internet and acquire the necessary funds.
