The Rise Of The Undead

A drama series set during the events of a zombie apocalypse, Z Nation (created by Craig Engler and Karl Schaefer) first aired on Syfy in 2014. The show focuses on Alvin Murphy (Keith Allan), a former prison inmate of Portsmouth Naval Prison who received experimental vaccinations from the government. He was the only survivor of the three participants, and he subsequently sustained a zombie bite without transitioning into one of the undead. Nevertheless, he is not entirely resistant to change, forced to watch as his body undergoes physical changes. His skin is turning blue, and he can control some zombies with his mind.

His blood containing essential antibodies, he joins with a group of survivors guided by Simon “Citizen Z” Cruller (DJ Qualls) — Mark Hammond (Harold Perrineau), Charles Garnett (Tom Everett Scott), Roberta Warren (Kellita Smith), 10K (Nat Zang), Steven “Doc” Beck (Russell Hodgkinson), Addison “Addy” Carver (Anastasia Baranova), Red (Natalie Jongjaroenlarp), Mack Thompson (Michael Welch), Cassandra (Pisay Pao), Serena (Sara Coates), Hector “Escorpian” Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), Javier Vasquez (Matt Cedeño), Nature Boy (Holden Goyette), Sun Mei (Sydney Viengluang), and Lucy Murphy (Tara Holt) — and traverses the new world. The group’s intention is to reach a Centers For Disease Control research lab located in California, where they hope to use Murphy’s blood to put an end to the outbreak.
