Flawless Victory

Mortal Kombat was originally developed by Midway Games in 1992. The concept first came about from Ed Boon and John Tobias, who proposed making a video game starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Unfortunately, the idea did not come to fruition, and it was replaced by a fantasy-themed fighting game. The character of Johnny Cage, however, was added to the roster of characters to pay homage to Van Damme.

Throughout the series, the plot focuses on a tournament known as Mortal Kombat, where various different realms — such as Earthrealm, Netherrealm, Outworld, the Realm Of Order, the Realm Of Chaos, and Edenia — select competitors to fight on their behalf. As decreed by the Elder Gods, if one realm can defeat the defending realm’s greatest warriors in ten consecutive tournaments, they are permitted to conquer said realm.

The game allows players to take control of these warriors, providing a huge roster of fighters: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax, Kano, Mileena, Kitana, Kabal, Kung Lao, Goro, Noob Saibot, Baraka, Ermac, Quan Chi, Kenshi, and more.
