Children Of The Damned

Founded in the 1970s, Iron Maiden is an English heavy-metal band from East London. Their original line-up comprised Steve Harris (bassist), Paul Day (vocalist), Dave Sullivan (guitar), Terry Rance (guitarist), and Ron Matthews (drummer). However, the group has undergone substantial changes since its conception, introducing many fresh faces: Dennis Wilcock (vocalist), Dave Murray (guitarist), Ron Matthews (drummer), Bob Sawyer (guitarist), Terry Wapram (guitarist), Barry “Thunderstick” Purkis (drummer), Tony Moore (keyboardist), Doug Sampson (drummer), Paul Di’Anno (vocalist), Paul Cairns (guitarist), Clive Burr (drummer), Dennis Stratton (guitarist), Adrian Smith (guitarist), Bruce Dickinson (vocalist), Nicko McBrain (drummer), Janick Gers (guitarist), and Blaze Bailey (vocalist).

Throughout their long and evolutionary history, the band has released dozens of albums: Iron Maiden (1980), Killers (1981), The Number Of The Beast (1982), Piece Of Mind (1983), Powerslave (1984), Live After Death (1985), Somewhere In Time (1986), Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son (1988), No Prayer For The Dying (1990), and Fear Of The Dark (1992) — among others. They have sold more than 100-million albums worldwide and received countless awards. In 2005, they were also inducted into the Hollywood RockWalk, cementing their place in music royalty.

Discounting the fluid roster of Iron Maiden members, many fans will recognize Eddie The Head, a multi-themed mascot who features on most of the band’s album covers and promotional artwork. He is commonly described as a zombie, but the character has adopted various appearances over the years, such as an Egyptian mummy and a cyborg.
