This Is Where The Fun Begins

Based on director George Lucas’s critically acclaimed science-fiction film saga, Star Wars: The Clone Wars began as an animated movie, which released in 2008. The plot focuses on the abduction of the infamous crime lord Jabba The Hutt’s son, Rotta (referred to as “Stinky”). The culprits, Count Duku and Ziro, intend to turn the Hutt Cartel against the Galactic Republic, framing them for the crime. To prevent this, Anakin Skywalker and his new apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, attempt to return the child to his father.

Following the release of the film, The Clone Wars developed into a full-blown animated television series. The seven-season show (which ran from 2008 to 2020) takes place during the three-year gap between Episode II: Attack Of The Clones (2002) and Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (2005), tracking the exploits of many different characters: Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, Darth Maul, Padmé Amidala, Captain Rex, Count Dooku, Cad Bane, Asajj Ventress, and man other fan-favorite characters.

The titular Clone Wars is a galaxy-wide conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy Of Independent Systems. Instigated by the covert Sith Lord Darth Sidious (Sheev Palpatine), the war was a secretive attempt to remove the Jedi from power by using the clone army against them.
