Welcome To Colorado

South Park, an adult animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, made its TV debut in 1997. Since then, there have been more than 300 episodes and over 20 seasons. The series has also made the jump to film with the critically acclaimed South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut (1999), which received an Academy Award nomination.

Predominantly, the show focuses on a group of young boys — Eric Cartman, Kyle Broflovski, Stan Marsh, and Kenny McCormick — as they get up to all sorts of mischief in the titular Colorado town. In addition to the central cast, the show features a number of unique side characters, many of whom have received episodes depicting their own outlandish high jinks: Chef, Token, Mr. Garrison, Towelie, Randy Marsh, Butters, Mr. Mackey, Jimbo, Terrance and Phillip, Officer Barbrady, and Father Maxi — to name just a few. Parker and Stone lend their voice-acting talents to a large selection of these characters, and they are joined by Isaac Hayes, April Stewart, Mary Kay Bergman, Vernon Chatman, and others.

Unlike most animated series, South Park tackles highly sensitive subject matter. The plots often center around current issues — such as racism, religion, and politics — and casually indulge in profanity and extreme violence. For this, the show has faced backlash from various groups, including parents a religious demographics.
