We Released The Snyder Cut

Prior to the release of the original Justice League in 2017, Joss Whedon (known for his work on the Avengers franchise) took over directorial responsibility for the film after Snyder’s sudden departure. This handover resulted in many scenes being reshot, dramatically altering the tone of the film and cutting the runtime down.

When Justice League eventually came out in cinemas, it failed to resonate with many fans and was regarded as a significant deviation from Snyder’s vision.

Over the course of years, these same fans began passionately petitioning for Snyder to complete his cut of the film — without major outside interference. In 2020, it was finally announced that his cut would be coming to HBO Max in March 2021, titled Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

This new version of the film features brand-new scenes and an extended runtime of four hours, offering a glimpse at the DC Universe as Snyder initially intended, with fan-favourite villain Darkseid (Ray Porter) being brought to the forefront alongside his underling Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds).
