Shazam Clothing

Say the magic words, and transform yourself into the World's Mightiest Mortal with Zavvi US’s wide range of Shazam clothing. Based on both the comic books and the live-action film adaptation, these officially licensed products — which include T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies — are complete with prints that feature character portraits as well as Billy Batson’s signature lightning bolt.

More Than A Kid

The DC Universe is full of heroes from all walks of life; however, few can be compared to Billy Batson, the superhero known as Shazam. His powers aren't so dissimilar from those possessed by his peers, such as Superman and Wonder Woman, but there is one underlying factor that helps him stand apart: he is only a child.

A troubled orphan, Billy lived alongside his five foster siblings — Mary Bromfield, Freddy Freeman, Pedro Peña, Eugene Choi, and Darla Dudley — in Philadelphia. For a time, his life remained ordinary, but everything changed when he was abducted by the Wizard Of The Rock Of Eternity, who was looking for a suitable candidate to become his champion and face the ill-intentioned Black Adam. The Wizard desired someone pure of heart and was sad to discover that Billy, one of multiple prospects, did not fit this criterion. Even so, the 15-year-old argued that no one is truly good, convincing the desperate Wizard to grant him power. By saying the word ‘Shazam,’ Billy could perform great physical and magical feats, including flight and emission of lightning.

When the character was created, he was referred to as Captain Marvel. Nevertheless, Marvel Comics would create their own superhero with the same name, and they eventually secured the trademark. This meant that DC Comics were unable to advertise under the original moniker, instead using Shazam! for all related publications and merchandise. Consequently, fans started to recognise Billy by this title, and the change was made official during the New 52 era, wherein Captain Marvel is never mentioned.
