Darth Maul Merchandise

Channel the dark side of the Force with Zavvi US’s wide range of officially licensed Darth Maul merchandise. These products — which include a variety of action figures, statues, busts, and LEGO sets — pull from the infamous Sith’s various appearances across live-action film and animated TV, his most notable roles being in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999) and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008–2020).

The Return Of The Sith

As mentioned, Darth Maul made his on-screen debut in The Phantom Menace, a film in which he is depicted as the loyal apprentice of Darth Sidious (Ian McDiarmid). Played by actor Ray Park, the Zabrak Sith is charged with capturing Queen Amidala (Natalie Portman) and dispatching her two Jedi protectors, Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), both of whom threaten to interfere with his master’s plans. This antagonism results in a climatic two-on-one duel, with Maul brandishing his iconic double-bladed lightsaber. Unfortunately for the villain, Obi-Wan gains the upper hand after his master is fatally impaled, managing to dismember his opponent at the waist.

Despite his apparent death in his first live-action outing, Maul was revived for the fan-favorite animated show The Clone Wars, which saw Sam Witwer voice the character. Having fallen down a seemingly bottomless shaft, the character finds himself on the junkyard planet of Lotho Minor, where his mind becomes warped and twisted, his psyche unable to recover from his humiliating defeat at the hands of Kenobi. Maul lingers on the precipice of damnation, but through sheer force of will, he continues his sorry existence, hoping that he will one day have the opportunity to take his revenge on the Jedi who defeated him.

A popular villain, Maul reappeared on the silver screen for a brief cameo in Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), in which he was revealed to be the behind-the-scenes ruler of a criminal enterprise known as Crimson Dawn.
